We see this a lot: many Spanish leaners find out that some of the phrases and words you learned in traditional libros de texto may not be useful in Latin America.
Why does this happen? The majority of Spanish teaching materials are created in Spain, where only around 8% of native Spanish speakers reside. As a result, it's not uncommon for cultural references and even words to be absent from Latin America.
That's why Latin ELE's mission is to provide Spanish students with an authentic experience of the way we speak in this region. This project was born in South America and was created by Marco from Chile and Jessica from Colombia in 2019.
Our goal is to teach Spanish and provide a window for students to become familiar with América Latina.
Our podcasts cater to beginners, intermediate and advanced students, and offer not only language lessons but also insights into cultural aspects of our region. Learning a language involves understanding the culture too.
